very low yielding vintage with less than one and a half tonnes of grapes per acre, has resulted in a wine of great intensity and richness of flavour. Fermentation was in small open fermenters at 30-320C. Vinification techniques included, coldsoaking, extended post-ferment skin maceration and a portion of barrel fermentation, helping to create multi-dimensional wine with outstanding varietal character. Matured in 100% French oak Troncais and Allier barriques for 11 months.
Color: Crimson/cherry red Bouquet: Intense plum and cherry aromas with Burgundian complexity ? smoked meat, chocolate and spice characters meld with integrated French oak.
Palate: Rich fruit sweetness is balanced perfectly with firm, velvety tannins and integrated oak flavours.
